A Memorable Day at Weston-super-Mare

The Reunion Community Project recently organised a wonderful seaside trip to Weston-super-Mare, providing participants with an opportunity to relax, socialise and enjoy a refreshing day by the coast.

A full coach of participants travelled together, with everyone receiving a complimentary grab bag containing sandwiches, cakes, biscuits, fruit, refreshments and information about the Reunion Community Project.

On arrival, the group enjoyed an open-top tour bus, taking in the local sights before spending time exploring the seafront. Participants chose how to spend their day, with some enjoying traditional fish and chips while others opted for a three-course meal in one of the local restaurants.

Although the morning began with a cool sea breeze, the weather soon improved, allowing everyone to make the most of a beautiful afternoon by the seaside.

The feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with comments including:

  • “I really enjoyed the day out.”
  • “Thank you for giving us the opportunity to get away.”
  • “Everything was so well organised.”
  • “I can’t wait for the next trip!”

Trips like these play an important role in reducing social isolation, promoting wellbeing and helping people build meaningful friendships while creating lasting memories.

The Reunion Community Project would like to thank all of our volunteers whose dedication helped make the day such a success.

We are especially grateful to the Community Fund for their generous support. Their funding made this trip possible and continues to help us provide activities that enrich lives, strengthen communities and improve wellbeing for older adults.

We look forward to many more enjoyable events and outings in the months ahead.
